Thanks Loren. That is good information. I've spent so much time dealing with this problem that what you say means something to me. What I found out is that there is a program called Kernel Check that will check for the latest kernel and install the binary for you. I havn't done it yet, because I have read that it is plug and play in the 2 latest ubuntu versions. I am using Jaunty. I don't want to upgrade to 9.10 since 10.04 is almost pre
release/release. I don't want to install twice this month. If LIfeCam doesn't work out of the box, then I will update the kernel with kernel check, and go from there. I'm going to reinstall by cd, because I know I screwed up the file system by trying to install gspca driver in Jaunty that were designed for other versions.
