I have what I consider a weird problem with Mozilla Firefox

It worked properly until yesterday. The only symptom yesterday was that cups
failed and had to be restarted. I don't think that had anything to do with
this.

Kubuntu 9.04

Before the problem started it worked the way I thought it should.

However, now ...

All of a sudden it opens all new windows on the desktop I was in when I opened
it the first time since it was last closed.

For example, I opened Firefox on desktop #10 (yeah, I use a lot of desktops).
Now I'm working on desktop #1 and I click on my Firefox icon. It opens a new
screen on desktop #10 instead of desktop #1 as it used to.

I click on a link on a site that's supposed to open a new popup-sized window.
Instead it opens up a full-sized window on Desktop #10.

Any ideas where I can change this behavior?

If I should remove and then reinstall Firefox, then how should I make sure I
don't lose any of my settings?

Thanks!

Jeff
