In no way I was trying to compare C/C++ to PHP, way two different things.
What I was trying to say is its easier to teach the basics.
Inputs, Outputs, loops, constructs, OOP, vars, arrays, database, files, ect.
Just to get the persons head around the idea of programming. And its instant
satisfaction, and they can show their friends on the web.

As for the GUI desktop programming lang's. Ya I guess Java is pretty cool
that your GUI app, will work everywhere. But its pretty fugly. They really
need native GUI components. Most Java work ive done is non GUI.
