"Canonical representatives had to deny that they were forking GNOME with the work on the Unity interface. Unity is a Canonical-sponsored project that was initially delivered for the Ubuntu Netbook Remix. This is a scary thought. Without a gnome option for Ubuntu, I suspect Ubuntu could very well suck. I hope they keep a gnome option if any of this is true.
