Virtual Server seems to be the topic of the month, if not the last
two. three or four months. I also am thinking of running a virtual
server. I think I would also like to run a second drive for raid. My
primary purpose is to use the machine for a backup for my development
server, and my workstation and start using good information
organization practices. (Databases/Information systems)

So I will make an appliance that I can use primarily for a backup.
Currently I have a windowsxp (the original OS from before I was
weened) that I would like to make a clone of because it has some
software that I rarely use, but I'm just not ready to discard yet. I
think I would like to install an instance of CentOS 5.5 , and maybe
Debian. One of these I will probably use for the backups. Maybe even
run an instance of Linux From Scratch, freebsd and/or Gentoo all kind
of on the back-burners.

The max ram on this old P4 is 2Gb. I'm thinking that it would not be a
good idea to run a desktop with virtual box installed in it and then
run appliances in that. (Since my machine has limited resources) So it
seems that the best thing to do is either run ubuntu virtual server,
or virtual box on the hardware.

If anyone sees anything wrong with this picture, please let me know.
Any tips, suggestions, or recommendations would be highly appreciated.

Thanks
Paul
