The problem as I see it is when I've got an html site and it needs to be 
converted to a CMS for easy management.   A good example from among my sites 
would be:

http://www.avidnetwork.com/

I don't see how this could be done with WordPress without significantly 
changing the design.

Note: I didn't say the site link above is a good site; it's just an example of 
the kind of layout complexity which in my opinion wouldn't work with 
WordPress.

It needs to be redone in a new size (1024x768 vs 800x600) and it needs almost 
all new content and some new art, but the format needs to be veriy similar to 
what's there now, including comments, boxes, etc. And no links to previous 
posts, and no "click to continue reading"; the sort of things WordPress is so 
good at.

I'd think Drupal would be good for this.
