Not good enough.

Need something like:

BOB and BILL but not JOE unless FRANK.

Multiple level searching with nested ands and ors are supported only by the
most sophisticated specialty searches; I've never seen an email client that
can come close; it would have to use parens and all logical operators. Anyone
know of anything that's got that?

Doesn't seem to offer the above.

Probably; but he's looking for a solution and not a tool-set.

(Thanks, Brian.)

It appears that Gmane can be used in some kind of mail to news scenario and
that the news can be private, but I can't tell if there's functionality for
regular users to be able to only find their own mailstore and super-users to
be able to find some subset of multiple users defined when their account was
created, and modifiable later. I'm beginning to think I should have written a
spec in my first email instead of assuming everyone knows what a mail
archiving solution generally requires.

The access limitation could possibly be done in Xapian but then I'm not sure
how to limit raw access, as would be required per privacy rules.

I'll wait another day to see if there are more suggestions, then I'll cap the
thread and send links to the gent who asked me.

Thanks, All!
