I've had continuous problems with Kubuntu over the last few versions and will no longer install Kubuntu. Nor will I install Ubuntu; I just don't like the direction they're going in. Gnome was fine (though not my first choice), but now that they're abandoining Gnome as their default I can't help but believe eventually it will be just as problematic as KDE is today. Looking for an alternative, preferably KDE. Looking at SLED (the cost is not excessive if it's truly a well-built distro), OpenSuse, and Mandriva. I've liked Mandriva in the past but the website makes it look like the company is a mess, so I'm going to be trying OpenSuse first.
