I'm sure you've checked out Mint. "Right?" A hear a lot of good about that
one. Of course it will be greatly influenced by Ubuntu because it's base on
Ubuntu. Then again it's also based on Ubuntu's Parent Debian. I think that
might be because some users wan't an alternative to everything Ubuntu is
doing. I think it's like a dual fork. They claim to be the 4th most widely
used OS behind Ubuntu. I've been thinking about trying it out myself.

I couldn't say for sure because I don't want to use KDE, but I would imagine
that mint has good support for KDE. I don't like those big old giant Desktop
Environments that have all kinds of Crap that I will never use.
