Canonical appears to be aiming to extend the potential of the Ubuntu platform into a well-designed system that covers desktop, server, cloud, mobile, and now TV. While it's too early to guess... I predict there is a hardware device which supports this within 3 months. Generic "boxee" box type manufacturers should have this going real quick. I think this is a good culmination of the work put into the simple yet powerful Unity interface, and the scaling up of the Ubuntu One cloud platform for media delivery.
