I've finally moved my entire email into the cloud. Got all 2.6 GB of archive
in during a 15 hour period, including the necessary sorting.

Now I'm trying to develop a schema for receiving and sorting email. Since we
bought up several companies over the years I have multiple 'customercare'
email addresses, one each at several domains, and multiple 'support' emails,
one each at several domains.

In the past, dependent on a desktop installation of kmail, I've simply had a
separate email account for each of these.

But it's time to move forward. With imap I'm no longer limited to my desktop
system (and occasional webmail for when I'm travelling).

I'm looking at one email address that goes to a ticket system, and several
mailboxes:

A 'me' business address with aliases, for all the old company domains so the
mail will come to the account #1

A support business address, with aliases for all the old company domains so
the mail will come to account #2

A first contact business address, with aliases for all the old company
domains, so the mail will come to account #3

A 'lists' address, with aliases for all the old company domains so the mail
will come to account #4

I've thought of putting everything into one account; it first thought this
makes it easier when I'm travelling...

However, that still means that while travelling I need to check all email,
sometimes in a less than optimal situation (on a phone at a rest stop, for
example), and I really don't need to look through lots of email.

So another option is to use different accounts, as above, but then I'll need
to do several logins, and for example, if a mail comes to support it won't
necessarily be available to me while checking my general business mail, or
vice versa.

What I've come down to is one account, with everything sorted into various
folders I can check, and only support email ending up in the inbox.

How does that sound to you? Do you have any other ideas?

Ideally I'd like to finish this tonight but I know it may be a few days yet.
If you've got any ideas, I'd love to see them here.

Thanks.

Jeff
