Hmmm... OK, in your first post, you said you moved the folder with amsn in it. Did you install amsn as root? Or did you do it as a normal user (did you use sudo?)
Can you put the folder back where it was originally installed? That might help. Also, try running 'package remove amsn' without the sudo and see if you get different results.
