I've heard a few stories about under-clocked laptops before. It's a fairly dishonest (from a moral as opposed to legal perspective) marketing trick. I suspect that there is a great or at least better-than-minimal battery life in the literature that came with your computer. This time is possible because of how the CPU is running so slowly. That battery life is a selling point. On the other hand nobody wants a 600Mhz system so the manufacturers get a processor with a clock-speed that's a selling point also and halve what it's doing. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Linux Users Group.
