Hello all, I am planning to purchase a new laptop and install openSUSE 11.1 or the latest Ubuntu on it. However some of my friends who have Linux on their laptops have been experiencing some troubles with the hardware (wireless not working properly, sound or bluetooth screwed up, etc.) - mainly due to the lack of appropriate drivers. I know that most of these issues can be resolved by downloading and compiling the appropriate drivers, but honestly, I'm really too lazy to do this kind of stuff and if there's a way to avoid it by purchasing a "Linux-friendly" laptop, I'd choose it.
So, the question is, which of the laptop manufacturers are more "Linux-friendly"? Do you have a laptop with Linux installed? Who is the manufacturer? Are you having any issues with the hardware? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Grigory Javadyan. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Linux Users Group.
