I want to backup the hard drive of some of my critical servers such as dns. I do backup some of my config but if hard disk error occur, it will take time to reinstall OS and install application.
I'm thinking of cloning hard drive. But I don't want to clone drive to another hard drive since it will be a bit expensive to buy another hard drive for each servers. What I want is to clone the hard drive and burn it to a blank dvd since dvd nowadays is a bit cheaper. But what is the best way to restore it if the image was from a dvd? Can anyone suggest what's the best way to do what I want? I'm planning to use norton ghost and I don't know if it has a capability to copy the image to a dvd.
