Open Source only?

Depending on the size of the drives in question burning to disc may not 
be economical or even feasible.

I have used Acronis to back up multiple different OSes and I have YET to 
see a backup that was under 4.7gb from a useable system (base install, 
not patched, etc not included).

If it is only a few files then DVD is an option, if it is a full system 
backup that is TOTALLY different,
