Lucid Lynx is the code name for 10.04 of all of the *buntus. The next
one will be Maverick Meerak, 10.10 in Ocotber. See a pattern?

The GIMP is no longer part of the default installation of Ubuntu.
Shame on them. :) But it is still in the repos. So install it from
Software Centre, Synaptic or from the commandline. The version in the
repos is 2.6x but there is a PPA for the latest version 2.7 which has
dockable windows so that it is all in one window. Here is the link for
those interested.
