Hello All, My email program stopped having the ability to send messages. (it still can receive them). When I send a message it get sent to the Outbox folder. When I go to send it from there initially it said "Unknown or illegal alias: [email protected]" This is correct because my correct email address is [email protected] (no "o"). However, I am specifying the correct email address when I send it (I have checked it carefully.) I went through the config and help docs and did not see where this incorrect email eg "mcostello" is configured/retrieved. This type of problem has been documented on the web but I did not see a viable solution.
As time went on the error message changed when I was sending a test message in the outbox directory to "Error while Sending message. Failed to append to : "Unknown error Appending to local 'Sent' folder instead. " Symptons suggest a config file/corruption issue. The web said that install/uninstall of Evolution could cause system problems. Does anybody have a fix for this or suggestion? Should I download an additional email program so I don't have to touch the Evolution install? Should I recreate a config file?
