I don't know if you're getting good advice here....

If you have a printer with wifi, the printer should be able to connect
directly to your router wirelessly.  Meaning, if you have a router
with wireless, much like a laptop, you should be able to pull an IP
address from the router by inputting the SSID or what have you..

After that - the device will just be an IP on your local network, and
you should be able to (from any machine) add a printer, and when it
asks for the port, specify that address.

That's the way it should work.
