Hi,
See you must be knowing famous three way handshaking
of TCP to start Establishment of connection
But,
For closing established connection TCP uses four-way
handshaking
For example A is host B is server listening on
particular port. After Established connection if A
wants to terminate the conn. Then A send FIN
Segment to A telling that he want to tear down the
conn. Then B sends ACK of that segment to tell A that
you can stop sending DATA but now Data is still
flowing from B to A so after sending ACK to A B knows
That A wants to terminate the conn. so after sending
ACK it again send FIN segment to A telling him that i
am closing connection as per u r request again B has
to acknlowdge it so it send ACK segment to A to
Confirm that conn. is terminated.

you may confuse about why at originating there are 3
way & at closing there is 4 way this is because DATA
flow FROM A to B is in control of A while DATA Flow
from B to A is in control of B so each one must
Separately finish there own data flow.

I hope u understood
BEST OF LUCK for u r interview.
