I have a squid proxy server on fedora-4.
Two lan cards are connected in system.
One For real ip (eth1) and other for local lan network (eth0).
I have assigned ip address in:
  /etc/sysconfig/network-script/ifcfg-eth0
  /etc/sysconfig/network-script/ifcfg-eth1

  Problem:
but when i am restarting network by
  # service network restart
It is taking previous ips which i have assigned in a system , it is not
taking current ips which i have entered in system..

 Hi Mandar,
Can you paste contents of "/etc/sysconfig/
 networking/profiles/default/ifcfg-eth0" &
"/etc/sysconfig/networking/profiles/default/ifcfg-eth1" file ?

  Regards,
  Vijay G.
 Hi Mandar,
Check the ip in the following 2 files ,

 /etc/sysconfig/networking/devices/ifcfg-eth0
 /etc/sysconfig/networking/devices/ifcfg-eth1

these two files will contains the previous ip address, that is the reason why
it is not taking new ip addresses. Change the ip addresses in this files as
well. Hope this will resolve your problem.

 "Happy troubleshooting."
