Hi, The error message indicates that the system is unable to find the "/usr" partition. The possible reasons for this are,
1. The partition is not available or simply doesn't exist i.e. deleted 2. The label assigned to the partition has somehow deleted or changed SOLUTION: Enter root password and give command "fdisk -l". It will display all existing partitions. If you know which partiton was "/usr" earlier and if that partition is not in the list then it has been deleted. If you know the cylinder numbers of earlier partition then create a new partition with the same cylinder numbers and reboot the system or else you'll have to reinstall the OS. If the partiton exist then give the command "e2label <device_name>". Most probably the output will not be "/usr". Give the command "e2label <device_name> /usr" to set the label on the device and then reboot the system. ----------- Muzaffar Ansari +91 9224339939 [EMAIL PROTECTED] ----- Original Message ---- From: Mahesh Patil <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: mantra <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; sharad group <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; vadapav <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, September 28, 2007 3:25:56 PM Subject: [linuxvadapav] dubug problem LABEL=/usr when i start linux i get this message Couldn't find matching filesystem : LABLE=/usr an error occurred during the file system heck .
