Assuming he has a domain, and he has a subdomain, I would prefer using a simple HTML redirect for domain --> sub domain redirections. Modifying the DNS for such petty issues isn't a good idea IMHO. Its the DNS, not the host file. Why jeopardize all your zones for a simple redirect? There may be other correct ways, but I would have done it by the above method. Regards, NMK.
