Hi Dinesh, PAM and chroot jails will only add a layer of security from users. FTP will still use port 21 across the network, and send data in clear text. I can stull use Wireshark (aka Ethereal) to sniff your data over the wire. sftp uses port 22, which is the same port as SSH. Data is encrypted and difficult to sniff.
