============================================ Hi Mohammed, Just to brief you on the kind of set up that you can possibly do using Postfix. 1. systems users with MBox. 2. Virtual users with Maildirs 3. Virtual user with postfix and mysql (probably user maildirs for storage) What is the setup that you are looking at? How have you planned to set users, their mailbox, authetication, etc... These are questions you need to find answer yourself. Once you have the answer to it. You can proceed to with installation and configuration. Else you will be reading through lot of crap and land in no mans land. In my organisation, I use Qmail as a complete mailing system primarily due to EZMLM and Vpopmail+qmailadmin tools. That's because user management is done by the internal IT team in coordination with HR (ppl who r weak technically). Postfix server in my setup is used for mailers. I found Postfix to be very smart with things such as domain-connection throttle and certain firewall workarounds. So Bottomline: 1. get answer to how you plan to set up users, authentication and mail storage. 2. Plan postfix installation and configuration thereafter. 3. Add functionality based on the above two... e.g. web-tools to manage users or Dovecot for IMAP/POP hope it helps. regards doors!
