Title: Cintiq 21UX on RHEL 3 Update 7, some help needed please.

Here is what we have done so far: Note we have not downloaded the WACOM driver package yet.

We have installed RHEL 3 Update 7 onto a workstation.

We have plugged the WACOM Cintiq 21UX device into both the USB and Video Ports. We start the XFree86 that comes with RHEL 3 Update 7.

The Cintiq 21UX works, X is displayed and our stylus device can move the pointer around the Screen.

Now on to the problem:

While the stylus does move the pointer around the screen and we can click on things, it seems that the pointer doesn't center onto where the Stylus is pressed and when we move the stylus, the pointer is located or moves to an area not on the pointer. Ie, if we move the stylus 1 centimeter, the pointer moves 1 inch or somewhere to that effect.

Some ways we tried resolving the issue:

1. We have tried running the wacomcpl tool, but it says that it cannot find a stylus, pen, or cursor device.
2. We set up the InputDevice sections per the following How-To page: http://linuxwacom.sourceforge.net/index.php/howto/inputdev but only put the "pad" InputDevice since this is the Cintiq 21UX(we did try putting all of the inputdevices and each individually. While the pointer would still work, it still had the same "scaling issue" noted above".

3. xsetwacom list shows the device, but when we try to do it reports an error accessing and invalid or bad device.
4. We have set "Mode" to "Absolute" and

Nothing resolves this issue.

In our XFree86 log we are getting the following errors:

(II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "pad" (type: Wacom Pad)
BEGIN xf86WcmProc dev=0x837a60 priv=0x836f30 type=pad flags=56 what=0

Does all of this mean that we will be forced to compile the Linux Wacom driver package to make this work correctly?

Thanks for any help. Can anyone who has gotten this particular device to work on a RHEL box email me?
