You should also get the kernel modules from the linuxwacom package and compile them as well. RHEL 3 uses a Linux 2.4 kernel (if their web is right) and several kernel modules must be updated if you shall get it working. The above log indicates that the modules that are currently loaded does not meet the prerequisites wacom_drv have.
