IIRC we haven't yet tried it out.  However, from the screenshot, I infer that 
the user interface is too complicated for our customers.  We want to have 
everything in one window and every GUI component at a fixed position.  The 
most important elements in the GUI, as far as I can see:

- A drawing area.

- An area to quickly select from a number of predefined colors (eight should
  be sufficient) and an area to quickly select the brush width.  An
  alternative would be to give the user a selection of, say, 12 different
  predefined "pens", each one with a certain color and brush width.

- A facility to save the image.  An alternative would be that the image is
  saved continuously to a file on disk that is specified e.g. by a command
  line parameter.  That way, the user doesn't have to learn the save button.

- Perhaps a facility to undo changes.
