Linuxwacom Discuss,

I've spent the morning doing a lot of experimenting with tracing of
images using my Wacom tablet, GIMP, and Photoshop.

What I've determined is that, for whatever reasons, tracing is much
easier and smoother when the tablet is in "Absolute" mode.

When in "Absolute" mode, both GIMP and Photoshop do about as well as
each other in terms of line steadiness and control.

In "Relative" mode, Photoshop does better, but not good enough to
actually be usable. Both GIMP and Photoshop jitter too much to create
satisfactory lines.

So I'll be able to do my work in GIMP, so long as I use it in "Absolute"
mode.

However, I find using "Absolute" mode when navigating around Gnome/Linux
in general to be a nightmare.

The only way I know of right now to switch between modes is to edit
xorg.conf and reboot.

Is there a way I can have "Relative" mode be my default tablet behavior,
but then switch to "Absolute" mode for when I want to use GIMP?
