I sent this to Greg privately yesterday. This thread is a
stretch for a list managers' mailing list.
The only time I complain to an ISP who was not the origin of a
spam is when the spammer is obviously using the ISP conduct
business. For example, I complain when the spammer uses a
dropbox, open relay or web site on the ISP's servers or when the
spammer has their own domain which appears to be served by the
ISP. I don't hassle random systems in the route because I don't
presume that every system in a given spam's route is a spam
haven.
