Last night's meeting
was an excellent one.
I discussed a topic
of great interest: Arrays and Structures. We dug very deep into the
internals of both Arrays and Structures. In addition to covering all of
the syntax and functions, we covered some of the pitfalls and little know gems
of knowledge about these complex data types, as well as discussed common usage
of them.
Ricardo Sanoja
recently took a beta of the certification exam for 5.0, and related his
experiences to us. For the most part, the exam hasn't changed much, though
it tends to focus more on ColdFusion and less on web development in
general. Of course, a number of new features will be covered on the test,
including User Defined Function, new query functions (query of a query and
dynamic connections), CFGraph, and more.
Our meeting was
sponsored by Buchanan Associates. Buchanan Associates an IT consulting and
engineering firm at http://www.buchanan.com/. Buchanan Associates offers qualified consultants and engineers to
quickly and efficiently complete IT projects through BA managed and client
managed services. We would like to extend our thanks to
Buchanan.
Be sure to look out for Wayne's crier messages concerning July's
meeting. Chris Elmore will be discussing a powerful, yet rarely
understood, thus rarely used feature of ColdFusion: Advanced Security.
Plus more to be announced!
