Take a Look at SQLAnywhere from Sybase. It is not as expensive as
Microsoft SQL server and the performance is really good. We have some
customers that upgraded ACCESS systems to this DBMS and are really happy
with it.

It is sold as SQL Anywhere Studio. Don�t be fooled by the name. It
includes a powerful DBMS that is perfect for ColdFusion applications
(but again, and as many other list members will reply, it all depends on
what kind of growth you are expecting in the following years)
