It's time for another meeting! (the meeting last week was a special meeting; we normally only have meetings once a month)
With the release of the next version of ColdFusion, ColdFusion MX, there's a lot to talk about! We're going to start our coverage of this latest release this month.
Jeremy Ridout, of the American College of Emergency Physicians, will cover some of the changes in CFMX. This will provide a good overview of the differences between CF 5 and CFMX. There's quite a bit that has changed, and there's even some added functionality that wasn't possible in CF before!
Billy Cravens, independent consultant, will discuss one of the biggest additions to CF ever: ColdFusion components. CFC's are very similar to custom tags, but far more powerful. They give you the capability to write distributed, object-oriented code. This makes for a powerful addition to CF that you definitely don't want to miss!
Meeting date: June 11 Time: 7:00 PM

Is there a ColdFusion topic you would like to see covered? Even better, is there a topic you would like to present on? Email us now to propose future user group meeting topics!
We ALWAYS have a need for meeting sponsors. If you would like to have the eyes and ears of the Dallas/Fort Worth ColdFusion community for a few minutes in exchange for a few bucks to spring for some pizzas, We'd love to hear from you!
The meeting is at Knowledge Development Centers in Irving (see map below). A very special thanks to them from the DFW-CFUG for allowing us to use their excellent facilities.
