One thing I do with an Apache Webserver is stop this print out (http://httpd.apache.org/docs/mod/core.html#serversignature)
I went to localhost and just gave it a "HEAD / HTTP/1.0" with a couple of returns. HTTP/1.1 302 Object moved Server: Microsoft-IIS/5.0 Date: Wed, 28 Aug 2002 14:15:06 GMT Location: localstart.asp Connection: Keep-Alive Content-Length: 135 Content-Type: text/html Set-Cookie: ASPSESSIONIDGQQGGIAO=FMCFHNGCOFNGJDEOHGBPKMKC; path=/ Cache-control: private Then on my production box HTTP/1.1 302 Found Date: Wed, 28 Aug 2002 14:26:36 GMT Server: Apache Location: <<removed>> Connection: close Content-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1 One of my non-production boxex DID respond: HTTP/1.1 302 Found Date: Wed, 28 Aug 2002 14:27:58 GMT Server: Apache/1.3.20 Sun Cobalt (Unix) mod_jk mod_ssl/2.8.4 OpenSSL/0.9.6b PHP/ 4.1.2 mod_auth_pam_external/0.1 FrontPage/4.0.4.3 mod_perl/1.25 Location: <<removed>> Connection: close If running on a unix box you can use: lynx -mime_header http://yoururlhere Not sure if IIS is a chatty as Apache about your configuration, but I would prefer not present more than is required. (Make them work a little for the notch on their monitor.) I could not find a front door to turning this stuff off through the MMC. Thanks for bring this up and reminding me to look. ;D jack lavender PS check out http://www.netcraft.com/survey/ for a psuedo practical application of this. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Kyle Murphy Sent: Wednesday, August 28, 2002 8:14 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Extra Server Response....???? I've had this same exact problem & can't figure it out. Mine only happens after a person has registered at the site & a promo popup comes up offering them something. It's right at the top of either the popup page or the redirected page in the parent window. Is this similar to what happens to you? For a quick example of what i'm talking about, go to www.blackamericaweb.com and register. It's free & we won't ever send you anything if you don't select that you want it, so for testing purposes go for it.
