It could very well be the configuration.  I'm not sure.  All I know is ours
requires added authentication.

That's sort of odd, because I've seen https url's on cf sites where all you
had to do was go directly to the https url and the page displayed fine
without any login prompt, etc. Admittedly, I'm not an ssl guru (far from),
but it sounds somewhat contradictory ... or rather that it's maybe a matter
of how the particular https server / service is configured.
