I'm interested in flash, specifically dynamically changing content in a flash movie.

Maybe folks could come up with a list of things they're curious or confused about and I could tailor a presentation specifically towards those issues? Or it could just be a freeform Q&A show & tell kind of thing too. I think I tend to perform/present better in writing. That being said I believe I'm scheduled to speak again at the CFUG on the new features and enhancements in MX 6.1 (Red Sky). Joe? What's the date for that? I think I need to read up on it myself -- I know some of the details, but I wasn't involved in the beta and haven't installed the latest version myself yet. And I do have _some_ knowledge of how Flash and CF communicate (or how they can communicate)... I used the new Flash MX loadvars parameter and objects in my chat room so that it would be compatible with previous versiosn of CF (I think I've got one person running it on 4.01 even oddly enough), and have never gotten around to writing a Flash Remoting version for MX. If there's interrest (although there are probably plenty of folks here who could present on it, and likely better than myself, since it's mostly an ActionScript thing and Flash is further down my skills list from CF, SQL and JavaScript), I'd be willing to give a beginners tutorial on that as well. http://www.turnkey.to/talkontap ... boy that piece of software needs a revision. :) p.s. Thanks for the presentation Clint, it was very informative. Also, thanks to Karen for the Dreamweaver presentation. I know Pablo's looked into Dreamweaver and tried to use it a few times and been stuck on how different it is from CF Studio. I still haven't really tried to migrate away from CF Studio 4.5.2 except for a brief stint with jEdit which I abandoned in spite of it being really well conceived for general UI flakeyness. I guess that's what tends to happen with open source Java projects. And a brief stint with CF Studio 5 which I abandoned as a result of a bug which causes files to be saved to the wrong local folder if you use ctrl+s to save them. I hit ctrl+s so frequently that I often don't even realize when I'm doing it, so it was just too dangerous to me to be potentially overwriting files, etc... so I had to go back to 4.5.2. Apparently it's a really obscure bug and I'm just one of the very few folks who've noticed and been affected by it. One of these days I probably will eventually migrate to Dreamweaver, I just don't know when. :) s. isaac dealey 972-490-6624 team macromedia volunteer http://www.macromedia.com/go/team chief architect, tapestry cms http://products.turnkey.to onTap is open source http://www.turnkey.to/ontap > Prresenters do not have to be professional speakers, just > share your knowledge with us.
