We are seeking a dynamic, end-user focused professional to develop and maintain
Web based applications, templates, systems and infrastructure to create,
support and enhance Thomson PPC's Web sites and online initiatives. This is an
on-site full-time position.
Work Environment and Activities
Environment at Thomson-PPC:
All developers work in their own office, they have current PCs or laptops as
needed. Most have 16th Floor window views. All developers have access to the
full MSDN suite, and a full Macromedia DevNet subscription. �Dress is business
casual. Pay and full benefits are extremely competitive.
Responsibilities include:
Develop data driven Web sites using Cold Fusion MX, C#.Net, and Microsoft SQL
Server.
Includes database design,
application design and
writing code compliant with PPC development guidelines.
�
Perform code maintenance and review as necessary.
�
Peer review code written by other members of the development team.
�
Ensure code quality and security based upon current best practices.
�
Documentation of code based on PPC development guidelines.
�
Utilize contemporary practices, trends and technologies in application design,
development and testing. Leading technology is studied and implemented, SQL
server 2005, Flex, Laszlo, Virtual PC etc.
�
Work as part of a development team, assisting Team Leaders in writing sound
functional specifications and requirements documents that will work as a road
map for application development.
�
Analyzing and interpreting project needs, determining scope and resources
required for successful completion and implementation of Web development
initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an individual with the following skills.
�
- Cold Fusion, and Cold Fusion MX, emphasis on the advance MX features of CFCs,
for 3+ years
- C#
- Extensive experience with relational databases and� SQL, SQL Server
- Structured, full life-cycle development skills
- Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills
- BSCS (preferred)
- Extensive internet application development experience including ASP.Net,
HTML, DHTML, VBScript, JavaScript
- COM or object oriented experience desirable

Other preferred skills:
- Project Management
- CFX_Java
- CF Fusebox
- XML
- 3+ years Microsoft (SQL, C#) development experience
- Accounting background
