Damn, Flex is looking more and more like Spectra every day! If this is
true, I think it will be a HUGE failure. I think that the vast majority
of people out there, even the ones who have managed to sell it in their
organizations, feel that Flex is already priced incorrectly by about 5-8
thousand bucks in the other direction. You guys have already heard me
complaining about this issue and I'm really considering just moving all
of my future development over to .NET (I'm already using Laszlo instead
of Flex). I just hate what Macromedia is doing lately and I'm not sure
how much longer I want to be one of their customers.

As a side-note, why do *almost* all bloggers seem completely to fail at
understanding the difference between the words "then" and "than"? Is
that as annoying to anyone else as it is to me?

Subject: Flex Price Increase?

Given the recent discussion on the list about Flex I thought some of
you might find this interesting:
http://www.mossyblog.com/archives/429.cfm

I for one will be pretty disheartened if this proves to be true. I
worked pretty hard to sell Flex inside my company, and for us $12K was
worth it for what the product offers. If it's suddenly going to be
2.5 times that, there's no way it will survive at my company and I'm
sure many other companies will be in the same boat.

Anyway, just thought I'd pass this along as a "heads up" in the event
you were considering Flex. Wait until next month and see what happens
to the price.
