We are a non-profit organization and have 2 servers collocated at the Planet and have had for about 10 years. I got an email that they were increasing our collocation costs by 250%.
The president of our group contacted the Planet and he was told that they wanted to convert us to a managed account with monitoring and supposedly this will be cheaper. For some reason, this does not compute. Can anyone provide any additional insight on what is going on? I would also be interested in learning what other organizations are doing that currently have collocated servers. Are there any other viable alternatives for server collocation?
