Linda, I think they are just getting there prices more inline with the rest of the world. Do some price shopping. I have 2 servers colocated in the ServerMatrix area. (I also have cabinet space) They are doubling my costs on the co-lo's, but it is still the best rate around. I shouldn't complain, but I will. They've been pretty good about honoring their rates without incrimental price increases over the years.
I don't think you have to pay extra for the monitoring service. It should come standard with your Orbit account. It sounds like they want to give you new boxes. If you are leasing, they are probably phasing those boxes out and upgrading for reliability and liability reasons. If they are your own then you don't need a managed service. I'm sure your president let them know that your are non-profit, but they should be willing to cut some slack for you. They did it for me for shared hosting about 5 years ago (CF on Windows w/ Access) and are still honoring the price. Talk to Chrissy in accounting, she's the boss, but you have to catch her on a good day!
