Yeah, I try my best to stay away from URL passing as much as humanly possible... more on a usability level than anything. As Dave mentioned, emailing is more problematic (long emails tend to get broken into multiple lines by the email app), it's also much more ugly to the user... plus, it's easier for them to screw things up by accidentally deleting a bit of the URL string and thus breaking the page.

I would say another reason in my book to avoid super long urls is that
