Laugh all you want buy living in Riverside has truely been an inspirational,
invigorating and educational expierence for myself. It's a perfect place
for Denise to figure out what to do with her life. The things here will
blow your mind and make you realize just how "close minded" you've allways
been... for instance;
-did you know that you can drive for hours on end in any one direction and
exit the freeway at the same intersection you got on at? I didn't think it
was possible, but sure enough, there's the same Best Buy, the same shitty
strip mall, the same 7 Starbucks (or were there only six before?)...
-and being here really helps you realize that *real* diversity comes from
people looking different... I've discovered the expansive ethnic diversity
and wealth of lifestyles in the LA basin at the many cultural awareness
centers here, like Chipotle, Del Taco, and Panda Express. I wish they had
more Panda Express in the rest of the world so other people could eat
Chineese food too.
-have you ever realized how much time you waste discussing minor and
irrelavant things like poverty, ethics, and law? I've wasted my whole life
thinking about the trivialities social injustice and civil rights instead of
what's really important in life! I mean, what good is knowing the names of
all 9 Supreme Court justices if you don't even know who got kicked off the
island this week or who Jay-Lo is engaged to?
-and, are you ready for this? You might wanna sit down... you're gonna think
I'm bullshitin, but I swear its true... There REALLY are people that voted
for Bush in the last election!! I know, I know, I didn't think it was true
either but I swear that they're here! And what's more shocking is that they
look just like you and me, and speak our language too! Apparantly they come
from some far of region of the universe called "Orange County". They have
shown me the light and helped me realize that buying a car with seating for
twelve is perfect for sitting in 3 hours of traffic everyday by yourself.
I think everyone should visit here in order to grow as individuals and become real Americans!
