Hop, The color changes sound good. But, could you please include an option along with them (maybe /set'able even though I know you hate new sets) that prevents accidently setting the fg and bg color to the same thing. I know a lot of (broken) mirc scripts that incorrectly assume everybody has a white background, and (also incorrectly) end their color codes with ^C1 (set FG to black)
If this is done with a SET, I propose doing it as follows.
/set UNREADABLE_COLORS [0|1|2|3]
0 - Allow unreadable color combinations. (same FG/BG)
1 - Fix accidently unreadable combinations (setting FG with BG already set to
the same thing, or vise versa) but don't fix intentionally unreadable
combinations (FG and BG set to the same as part of the same color code)
2 - Fix all unreadable color combinations (same FG/BG)
3 - Strip unreadable color codes completely
("Fixing" would be accomplished by changing one of the colors to a contrasting
color)
