To number two, I don't recall where I read it because it's been so many years, but supposedly the Gray Phantom was there to pick up the Alex and take it to Amuro.  This would've been right after the fall of Solomon, so had the Alex not been damaged, it would've made it to Amuro in time for the Battle of A Baoa Qu.

I have a couple, one from reading this and one from reading Mark's updated timeline:

1. We learned that before our TV series begins half of human population was killed. From Mark's latest translation we know that half of the population was in space. So I am wondering, can we figure out the casualities (on Earth and in the Colonies) before OYW began with these data? I never sure how much of the Sydney colony drop killed as a percentage of human population on Earth at that time.

2. I didn't notice that the 0080 story was happening around the same time when the Whitebase was in Side 6, just a different colony. Is there official record on the reason of one of Federation's latest Pegasus class battleship Grey Phantom  happens to be there? was it a part of Star One?
