There's a deeper problem, GML Mk.II is running on the grace (or
forgotteness) of Ben's company. If one day the server had a disk
crash or there's a change in management of his company, we could be
shut down without warning. No one who's active on the list has the
subscribers list so moving everyone to a Mk. III would not be easy.
That is the thing...
If we were ever booted off of Ben's hardware with warning it would be no
problem to resurrect the list on one of my work servers. Hopefully we'd be
able to get the gundam.com domain pointed over, as well as getting the
membership list...
But as you say, if the lights went out without warning there would be
little recourse. It's not like we can even parse the mailing list archives
to get the active posters, as the mail-archive.org site strips out email
addresses.
Something to potentially be worried about, for sure.
