If you look at it from just the toys section that really matter to boys at Toysrus, they are not that much bigger than the ones at Target and Walmart. Some Super Walmar and Super Target actually have a very large toy section. Also all the local Toysrus in my town have been converted to Geoffrey's Toysrus and they put in a huge playground/party area. Action Figure aisles are reduced to just 2. I actually have better luck finding Transformers at my local Target than Toysrus.

I think the declining toy market was talked about in a thread last year.
Walmart and Target have surpassed Toysrus when it comes to selling toys.
Didn't Walmart decided to drop Gundam?
This might have contributed to killing off the US Gundam toy market.

Wal-Mart and Target obviously have radically smaller toy sections than Toys
R Us.  The reason I think both shops surpassed TRU is the convenience
factor.  A parent can do Christmas shopping for their whole family in one
store and get it over with.  They just go for the most common generic toys
which are readily available at these general purpose stores.
