It did make me think of one question. With bazookas should the thrust/explosion flare be coming from the projectile or the bazooka? I noticed on the cover art that they colored the launch piece to make the flare come from the bazooka. I would have thought that the flare should be coming out of the missile itself.
Hah, I also spent more then 5 mins playing with the piece and thinking how (if) to paint it too. Ok... let me do some wikiing... So... a bazooka isn't a class of weapon (which would be anti-tank weapon for infantry) but a specific product line (US Army used only during WW2 and Korean War). Your question partly rest on the question if the charge explodes inside the barrel (like guns and cannons) or if the ammunition is a self-propelled rocket. On that question the answer is later, i.e. the flare continues to come out of the shot after it leaves the barrel. But as the shot leaves the barrel, the rocket flare becomes suddenly unconstrained by the barrel so a large plume of smoke out of the barrel is probably reasonable, and such plume may be physically wider (but not as bright) as the rocket flare. So I think the plastic piece is not unreasonable, but you are right to suspect the coloring on the cover art. (actually I think they install a small lamp in the smoke piece to make it look that bright) The flare should be brightest at the projectile. Also the bazooka should have an open backend and there should be smoke and flare out of the backend. Hmmm OTOH the brightest and widest part of the flare out of jet and rocket engines are usually not right at the engine but some distance behind it. So there probably isn't a simple conclusive answer. Anyway we've long past the required accuracy for anime physics. -- Dr. Core -------------------------------------------------- The Gundam Mailing List MK-II [email protected] Archives: http://www.gundam.com/gml Help: Email [EMAIL PROTECTED] with this in the BODY: help list
