[gundam] Sumo Question

Is there any explanation for why Harry's Sumo switches back and forth between the gray face with the green eye and the black face with the orange squares?  Pou's silver Sumo seems to always have the black background with orange squares face.  Is this an animation glitch or does his Sumo have multiple faces?
