The babelfish translation is actually fairly decent, for once. Most
everything in the translation you linked turns up in the Babelfish version
except for a few odds and ends (mention of the adopted kid's name, for
instance). That odd 'celibacy' word doesn't turn up, though. Nor does
anything like it, which makes me wonder if the translation came from a
different source. I don't think the word really belongs up there. But I
can't see anything in the linked translation that would work as a suitable
replacement for it.
The word is "dokushin", which can mean "bachelor", "unmarried", "single", or
"celebate".
