Ahh... that's a very interesting point. Very much unlike my previous
visits to HK (US$12 for MG Type 100), I didn't come across any
significant items at bargain bin price range.
It could be I was looking at the wrong places (I doubt that) or in the
wrong season (my last trip was in Xmas/New Yr). Or it could be that
Bandai had gotten so smart with product design that few of them are
dumped. Or the distributor had stopped forcing unpopular products on
the retailers or the retailers had stopped taking crap from the
distributor.
Bottomline is that the only on sale items I remember (counting both
toys and models) were early EX kits, and the discount was lousy
(10-20% off exchange rate). As a result, I decided to order from HLJ
rather than haul them around in luggage. Better packaging and
handling and less hassle, well worth the 25-35% extra cost.

Well $120 is currency exchange price, and I expect them either too popular
got sold out or not so popular and dropping price --in fact, I expect you
would found the King Gainer under-100 and dont' see Getta 1 -- hence the
price range.
Okay I'll wait.
